High Standard in Willing Hands Oral Performance

Winners of Willing Hands oral performance contest.

The Willing Hands hosted its 37th annual oral performance contest culminating in an awards presentation to the winners on Saturday August 26, at the Naidoo Memorial School.

One hundred and fifty two learners from grade R to grade 11 from eight primary schools and four high schools participated in this annual contest.

Performance and leadership were further enhanced when grade 7 learners from Naidoo Memorial Primary School were given the opportunity to act as chairpersons and time keepers.

In a society where EQ and IQ are fast becoming the order of the day, learners were afforded the opportunity to present their thoughts and ideas on various topics, thus allowing them to develop both self confidence and communicationskills.

The high standard of oral performance by the learners was commended by the judges.

Willing Hands Club Chairperson Mrs Shameen Pillay has expressed her gratitude to all stakeholders for their roles in this major event.

Club officials also appreciated the extra effort by all educators in coaching and preparing the learners and also for assisting in judging on that day.
