Jehovah’s Witnesses all set for 2017 Convention

The Convention Committee meets with the Stadium authorities and director of Metro police. Trevor Lee, Malusi Vilikazi, Rammy Singh, Ashley Dove ( Director Metro Police) Sazi Gcume and Dave Erasmus (Convention contract Representative)

The English, Isi-Zulu and Sign language delegates of Jehovah’s Witnesses from all parts of Kwa-Zulu Natal, will attend their Regional convention, with the theme, “Don’t give up,” at the Moses Mabhida Stadium from September 15 to September 17. Over 32 000 delegates are expected to attend this special three-day event of bible instruction, interviews, dramas, feature films and motivational talks.

Owing to the increased traffic volume during the Convention, arrangements were made with Metro Police to assist in avoiding congestion. Director of Metro Police, Ashley Dove, assured the Convention Committee of his department’s full support over the three days and will implement strategic plans for traffic flow.

Local guest houses and hotels will enjoy an increase in bookings during the Convention week, as many delegates will be staying over for the three days. It is a time for rejoicing for Jehovah’s Witnesses, as the Convention also unites people of all nationalities, and the quality of love becomes clearly visible. (John 13:34,35.) Trevor Lee, from the Convention Committee stated, “Many today suffer disappointment and feel discouraged.

The Bible shows us how to have a happy life now and how to gain an even better life for the future. The Bible’s message of hope is the focus of this year’s Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

We are confident that all who attend will leave refreshed and will learn how to turn to God for strength as recorded in the Bible at Romans 15:5.” Local congregations in KZN, will participate in a special campaign by visiting neighbours, friends and relatives with an invitation to attend the Convention.

The Convention will commence daily at 9.20 am.

Admission is free and no collections are taken.

All are welcome to attend.
