Lt Col Nene heads Umk Police Station

The recent transfer of previous Station Commander Col PN Govender has created a vacancy for the position of head of the Umkomaas Police Station.

Lt Col Bhekisisa Elphas Nene has confirmed that he has been appointed acting Station Commander as of November 2017.

Lt Col Nene who started his policing career in 1989, has had a varied career and has a wealth of experience such as serving as Commander of Visual Policing (Vispol) and Public Order Policing (POP).

Over the years he served in areas such as Umlazi, Marianhill and Chesterville. From 2013 he served at King Shaka International Airport until his recent appointment to Umkomaas.

Lt Col Nene has stated that his office is open to the public and that he is prepared to listen to community concerns in the common endeavour to fight crime.

The Acting Station Commander says that he is happy to be in Umkomaas, a familiar station as he once served here.
