Repairs to Maclean Street have commenced

Work underway at Maclean Street.

At long last a sigh of relief can be heard from frustrated motorists, especially taxi drivers, as Durban Metro commenced with the construction of the eroded section of Maclean Street in Umkomaas.

After several representations and site meetings, something tangible is being done to rehabilitate the “slipping bank” and sinkhole.

The heavy machinery and site preparation are indicative of a major and permanent repair, said a resident.

Maclean Street is a very busy taxi route between the Umkomaas train station and Roseneath.
