Amacebo School Road is impassable

AMACEBO PRIMARY School learners and educators in KwaCele, could not go to school recently owing to the road being impassable.

The school principal, Ms Mbanjwa, has repeatedly appealed to Umdoni for the regular maintenance of this road which, when it rains, is muddy and causes the wheels on vehicles to spin.

Teachers and learners were forced to turn back on Wednesday and on Friday, two weeks ago, thus affecting school work.

Ms Mbanjwa said that the last time a grader had worked on the road was after an article appeared in the Rising Sun in 2016.

No maintenance has been undertaken since then.

An official in charge of Umdoni roads maintenance, when contacted by a Rising Sun journalist, said that the grader would only be sent out once the rain had stopped.

He assured the newspaper that the school road would be listed as a priority.
