During the crime prevention operation of September 30, at 9pm near the N2 northbound near Ultra City, Const Giani of the K9 Unit stated that while he was patrolling the N2 freeway he noticed a white Nissan Sentra parked on the side of the road.
On checking out the registration of the vehicle he discovered that it had been reported as a stolen vehicle in Isipingo. Four suspects were arrested and detained and vehicle was seized as an exhibit and sent to the Prospecton pound. Acting Station Commander, Lt Col Nene commended the officers for the good work in securing arrests during the crime prevention exercise. He also appealed to members of the public to reports all suspicious activities and persons whom they suspect are involved in crime to the police. This type of community effort will assist police in curbing crime.
An appeal is again made to the public to report activities related to cable theft. Theft of electrical cables appears to be continuing unabated in area.
